Newer model cars often have a service indicator light or notification on the cluster. Clients book their next service based on the date of the previous service or the kmsrun. For older model cars, the date is usually displayed on a sticker on the top right-hand corner of the vehicle windscreen.
Your vehicle should be serviced every 10,000 kms or 6 months, whichever is earlier. It mostly depends on the manufacturer’s guidelines as mentioned in the logbook.

This mostly depends on the kms run by your vehicle or if your vehicle has a logbook, which would detail the service required. When the mechanic is performing the minor service upon inspection, they can verify if any major service is needed.
In most instances, it can take around 45 mins to an hour. But in some cases, it can be around 1.5hours too.
Not changing the oil can cause short- and long-term damage to the motor. This ends up costing you more to fix the issue than a timely minor service would have cost, where the oil and oil filter is changed.
